Now and then you need to switch up the flavors. I love tropical salsa and normal have that with chicken or fish, but thinly sliced beef? This was a first and it certainly won’t be a last!
The best thing is you just wing it! Serious the salsa is simple and the steak is super easy.
For the salsa you need, well whatever flsvors your heart desires. In my case the mangoes were in sad shape so I substituted sith pineapple. You want to make the salsa first so the flsvors marry into a happy partnership.
1 can crushed pineapple, drained (save the juice for something else or drink it)
A small amount of onion, finely diced (or use spring onions or garlic)
A small pinch of salt
2 Tablespoons, give or take, of lime juice (if using fresh, zest the lime first and add that in)
A small handful of flaked coconut
1 finely chopped hot pepper
Combine all items into a bowl, stir and set aside. That’s it! I’ve made this numerous times switching out the fruit. Some times I’ve used mango, some times peach or nectarine, twice papaya. Use whatever you like! Add various spices to your taste.
I had Beloved grill some thin roulade style steak which had been seasoned with salt and pepper. Cook until at least medium and then slice into thin strips.
Serve with salad greens. I put the steak slices on th greens and cover with salsa and enjoy! I sprinkled the salad with parsley and cilantro to finish!
